Call for Proposals

June 1-4, 2023 at Baruch College in New York City, New York

Call for Proposals

Deadline for submissions: January 30, 2023

AAAE seeks proposals from presenters of diverse backgrounds and ages, and who are at different stages of their careers. We encourage paper and presentation proposals that showcase educators, researchers, scholars, and practitioners from a variety of academic institutions and organizations in the non-profit, profit, and public spheres, in the US and internationally, and welcome proposals from graduate and undergraduate students.

Inspired by the conference location of New York City, one of the most artistically vibrant and culturally diverse multi-tier cities, we are inviting you to embark on an investigation of the creative ecosystem, from an arts-administration perspective.

The dynamic development of the field and the accelerated digitalization caused by the pandemic have impacted teaching, learning, creating, and experiencing, and this has prompted a need to reflect on the key elements and dimensions of the creative ecosystem in different parts of the world and to appraise what the future might look like.

Striking a balance among peopleprocess, and power has become a central challenge for the creative ecosystem. We would like to invite you to interrogate the creative ecosystem through all or any of the three lenses.

PROCESS

Students interested in the prize should contact their program directors and follow the quality standard and evaluation criteria, established by the said program.

The recipient of the prize will be announced at the AAAE’s conference in New York, and they will receive a $500 cash award.

The winner will be welcome to present at the Conference. If they elect to do so, AAAE will waive the conference registration fee. Past Conferences

AAAE’s annual conference brings together members and colleagues from across the globe. It is the perfect opportunity to connect with fellow arts administrators and educators and explore the complex questions of arts and cultural management. Our members gather to share their latest research findings, explore the newest practices and keep up with the rapidly changing ways way art is made, supported, experienced, and delivered in markets across the globe.

Conferences offer programming in research, pedagogy, and practice. Hosted by AAAE members in a different location every year, they afford members and attendees an opportunity to explore the arts and culture of new places.

Due to COVID-19, the in-person conference was moved online for the 2020, 2021, and 2022 Annual Conferences. The video recordings are available to all AAAE members HERE within the AAAE Members Portal. (You must be logged into the Portal to follow the link.)
