AAAE Membership

AAAE connects its members to a world of colleagues, insights, research,

and professional development opportunities.

AAAE Offers Five Membership Categories:

Institutional Membership ($500/year includes up to 2 faculty members' additional Affiliate Faculty $50 each/year)
Open to graduate and undergraduate academic programs in arts and cultural administration, arts policy, and research that meet AAAE requirements. Institutional membership is subject to approval by the AAAE Credentials Committee and the AAAE Board. Each membership includes two named faculty, and institutions may choose to include affiliate faculty in the membership.

Institutional Membership Criteria:

- Confer a graduate or undergraduate degree in arts administration or a related discipline, or confer a comparable academic credential determined acceptable by the board
- A published arts administration curriculum approved by the program’s host department or college

Application for Institutional membership is a one-time process; members need not re-apply year to year unless their programs have undergone significant structural change, or membership has lapsed for more than a year.

Developmental Membership ($350/year)
Intended for academic institutions contemplating or in the process of implementing arts administration or related programs that do not yet meet Institutional membership criteria.

Collaborator Membership ($300/year)
Available for organizations (or individuals representing organizations) that are unaffiliated with degree-granting programs, but want to connect and engage with the membership.

Individual Membership ($90/year)
Available for individuals who are not affiliated with degree-granting programs, but who are interested in education, research, policy, and practice in arts and cultural management. These individuals might be faculty members in academic programs, professional arts administrators, or scholars or researchers in unaffiliated departments or programs.
