The Arts Education Partnership (AEP) seeks a 2024/2025 Youth Representative to serve on its Advisory Council. As part of Education Commission of the States, AEP relies on the Advisory Council to provide guidance and advice. The Youth Representative will be a full member of the council, serving a one-year term from June 1, 2024 – May 31, 2025.
The Student Representative will commit to:
- Working with an AEP staff member on a project or topic related to the youth representative’s areas of interest.
- Attending virtual advisory council meetings in June 2024, December 2024, and March 2025, dates TBD.
- Providing occasional feedback and guidance via email as requested between scheduled meetings.
- Traveling to AEP’s Annual Convening in Pittsburg, PA (dependent on local pandemic conditions) to attend the in-person council meeting on Sept. 11 and two-day event on Sept. 12-13.
AEP will provide:
- Up to $2,000 to reimburse travel expenses to/from Pittsburg for the Annual Convening.
- Complimentary registration for the Annual Convening.
Candidates must meet the following criteria to be considered:
- Be between 18 and 24 years old as of June 1, 2024.
- Have a strong interest in arts education issues in arts administration.
- Be aligned to AEP’s mission to build leadership capacity for arts and education leaders.
