Todd Stuart

Todd is an entrepreneur, artist and teacher and is the Director of the Arts Management & Entrepreneurship program and a Lecturer in the College of Creative Arts. He earned a Master of Fine Arts at the University of South Carolina, where he taught before working professionally as a theatre designer and artisan in the Southeast US. He went on to earn a Master of Business Administration at the University of South Carolina after which he was involved in start-ups in the design and consumer goods industries. Todd also holds a Bachelor in Arts from the University of Florida.

Todd came to Miami to build the Arts Management program that had 30 students when he arrived. Today, the program has grown to over 80 students from across campus and houses the new co-major in Arts Management, a revised minor in Arts Management and a minor in Arts Entrepreneurship – only the 18th minor in this field in the country. The program is collaboration with the Farmer School of Business.

Todd is involved in many interdisciplinary teaching activities including courses in Design Thinking and Creativity and Innovation. He recently presented at presented at the 4th Biennial Pave Symposium on Entrepreneurship and the Arts at Arizona State University. He is currently writing a chapter for the summer 2018 publication “Arts and Entrepreneurship” discussing the role of strategic thinking in arts entrepreneurship. Todd is working on a start-up – Arts Libra that gives artist and arts managers access to arts business consulting at reasonable costs.

Todd is a member of the Society for Arts Entrepreneurship Education where he is currently the Vice President and the Association of Art Administration Educators.
