T. Sharee Fowler

T. Sharee Fowler, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor and Director of the Nonprofit Management and Community Leadership Program at Salem College in Winston-Salem, NC. Prior to joining the Salem faculty, Dr. Fowler served as the Partnership Director for The Forsyth Promise, a community-wide cradle to career education initiative. She also has held positions as an Associate Organizer for CHANGE, a nonpartisan, multi-racial, multi-faith community organizing group and as a victim advocate, community educator, and the founding coordinator of the Domestic Violence Community Council at Family Services. In addition to her work at Salem College, Dr. Fowler is a Courage & Renewal Facilitator in Preparation and currently co-facilitates a monthly Circle of Trust© for individuals working in the nonprofit and public sectors in her local community. She serves as the President of the Holly Avenue Neighborhood Association and on the Board of Directors for Triad Restorative Justice. Dr. Fowler also is a member of the Voices of God’s Children, a multi-racial community choir dedicated to the preservation of African-American spirituals as a musical art form.

Dr. Fowler is a proud Salemite and is grateful for the opportunity to teach at her alma mater. She actively seeks to create connections between Salem’s students and the broader Winston-Salem community through the courses she teaches. She is committed to helping students strengthen their leadership skills, engage their imaginations, and develop their unique voices, so they can be effective social change agents.
