Kristin is the Graduate Course Director for the Bath Business School at Bath Spa University in the UK, leading the School’s postgraduate courses which include the MA in Arts Management, the MA in Business and Management, and the MSc in Accounting and Finance.
Her particular areas of expertise are: arts and cultural management; arts education and cultural learning; audience development and community engagement; cultural heritage management; World Heritage Site management; and heritage and public history. With a background as a performer and arts manager, Kristin has over twenty-five years experience in the arts and cultural sector in both Canada and the UK.
Built on a foundation of strong sector engagement that enables students to start building their own professional networks, Kristin creates courses that bridge the gap between theoretical understanding and practice-based experience. She regularly works with organisations at the early stage of project development to help embed student opportunities into activity plans for funding applications to the Heritage Lottery Fund and Arts Council England.
Kristin is a trustee for Bath Preservation Trust; and she represents the University on the Holburne Museum’s Higher Education Strategy Board, and on the City of Bath World Heritage Site Steering Committee. Since 2015 she has also been a University Staff Governor for BSU.
She is a member of the Bath and North East Somerset Museums Group; the Cultural Forum for Bath Area; the South West Federation of Museums and Galleries; World Heritage UK; the Cultural Learning Alliance; and Association of Arts Administration Educators (AAAE).
Deeply committed to interdisciplinary approaches to global citizenship and the importance of international engagement, Kristin is a founding member of the Global Academy of Liberal Arts (GALA), created by BSU in 2014 to explore the relationships between creativity, social engagement and the liberal arts in international contexts.
