Dr. Kuhar has previously held positions in the higher education and nonprofit sectors at SPEA and at IU’s Office of Diversity, Equality, and Multicultural Affairs, the Indianapolis Children’s Choir, and Community Hospital Foundation of Indianapolis. An active music educator and mezzo-soprano, she has worked in the classroom as an educator and teaching artist with students of all ages, gives regular master classes and workshops at colleges around the country, has performed professionally throughout the U.S., South America, and Europe, and is a Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions Regional Finalist. Prior to this appointment, she was the executive director of the Washington Concert Opera and director and assistant professor of Arts Management at Sweet Briar College.
