Have you collaborated with other members or found mentorship through AAAE?
A few years ago, with my colleagues, I convened and initiated the first Arts Management Undergraduate Conference in the Philippines (21-23 July 2021), with support from the Association of Arts Administration Educators (AAAE). This conference was presented in partnership with two other universities in Metro Manila, offering related arts and cultural management programs. While this was done online, the conference brought together insightful presentations from diverse students, practitioners, scholars, and educators based in Singapore, Australia, UAE, Germany, and the Philippines. The keynote speeches were delivered by esteemed AAAE members Dr. Brett Ashley Crawford, Jeff Poulin, and Dr. Constance DeVereaux. We are grateful for the support of our colleagues at AAAE, especially Dr. Daniel Green, Professor Anne Frost, and Haley Carlson who made the partnership possible. We remain in touch with members like Dr. Daniel Green and Milena Deleva to continuously explore prospective collaborations and foster meaningful exchanges in arts management and creative industries. I’ve become active in AAAE since I was appointed Chair of the BA Arts Management Program (now Creative Industries Management) at the De La Salle- College of Saint Benilde Manila, the Philippines in 2020. Since then, I served as a member of its conference review panel (2022-2024).
If you had to describe AAAE in three words, what would they be?
Inspiring. Collaborative. Ingenious.
