The Minor in Arts Leadership and Administration is open to all Music, Theater, Dance and Art undergraduate students at Colorado State University. Interested students in other majors are encouraged to contact the Arts Leadership and Administration staff ([email protected]) to add the minor to their degree program. The curriculum is designed to enhance the skills of current undergraduates that are needed to be a successful artist beyond the studio, stage, classroom, therapeutic practice and performance hall.
Have you ever considered starting a business? All Arts Leadership and Administration Program students are eligible to enroll for the College of Business New Economy Venture Accelerator. This program provides entrepreneurship training, advisement, mentoring, and work space for student run ventures. Selected business ideas are incubated for a 12 month period to develop the idea and to better position it for a successful launch
The minor in Arts Leadership and Administration augments a student’s major by broadening their skill set and career options. Classes are designed to provide the students the following: leadership, business and entrepreneurial skills that will enhance their ability to be competitive in the 21st century job market, arts leadership and advocacy skills that will cultivate an audience for the present and future of the arts, real-world experience in partnership with arts organizations and an environment that allows for creative thinking and entrepreneurial efforts that may lead to new collaborations in the arts and entertainment industries. Through this minor, students will prepare themselves for career paths in or out of the creative industries, and redefine what success in an arts career looks like for them.
