Prof Sun-man Tseng

Sun-man TSENG joined the Education University of Hong Kong as Adjunct Professor in 2012. He played a key role in the design and launch of the Executive Master of Arts in Arts Management and Entrepreneurship programme in 2014. The programme is unique in the region since it attracts experienced cultural managers from seven Asian cities.

Prof Tseng has held a number of senior arts management positions in Hong Kong, including Executive Director of the Hong Kong Arts Festival Society, Secretary-General of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council and Head of Radio 4, Radio Television Hong Kong. Since 2002, Prof. Tseng concentrates on consultancy and arts management training in Hong Kong and Mainland China. He served as Chair and Professor of the Arts Administration Department of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music from 2005 to 2008. He is currently Guest Professor of the Beijing Academy of Dance and Xing Hai Conservatory of Music.

Since 2014 he has served as a board member of the Association of Arts Administration Educators (AAAE). He is also an Arts Advisor (Arts Administration) of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council and a member of the Artistic Board of the Macau International Music Festival.

A frequent speaker on arts management training and cultural policy, he gives lectures and presentations in different cities in China, Europe and USA.. His book “Principles of Arts Management” (in Chinese) has been used as a textbook in China and has sold more than 9,000 copies.
