Michele Beasley

Michele Beasley (AR 778 – Legal Issues in Arts Administration) is an attorney with over two decades of experience in non-profit and for-profit organizations, working in private practice law firms and in-house legal teams. Among her previous positions, Ms. Beasley has served on the Board and Executive Committee of the Women’s Refugee Commission (including as Chair of the Program and Policy Committee), and on the Board of The Intersection for the Arts, a San Francisco broad-based arts, performance and community organization. Ms. Beasley has also advised other boards of both non-profit and for-profit companies. In her work on boards and in companies, Ms. Beasley has led a number of strategic planning and restructuring efforts resulting in more effective governance structures and reduction of legal risks for her organizations. She has served as General Counsel and run law departments at companies big and small. In 2016, Ms. Beasley formed Cleantech Advisors to provide legal and risk assessment advice, compliance system design and legal support services to start-up and emergent companies in the technology and energy industries. In addition to her law practice, Ms. Beasley works as a textile and fiber artist at her studio in Natick, MA. Ms. Beasley completed her post-graduate Diploma in Organizational Leadership at the Saïd Business School, Oxford University where her research focused on leadership effectiveness and change management. She previously attended Georgetown University Law Center, where she received her Juris Doctor, and Smith College, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Music.
