Alan Kopischke

Alan Kopischke is a lecturer at UW-Green Bay in Theatre and in Arts Management, as well as an Equity actor, and an arts consultant specializing in launching new programs.

Alan has served in executive leadership positions at Birch Creek Music Performance Center and Modjeska Youth Theatre Company, and as Development Director for Peninsula Players. He has been an Alderman, a Community Development Chair and a member of the Plan Commission in Wauwatosa. He has also chaired the boards of Third Avenue Playhouse, the School Factory and the Peninsula Arts and Humanities Alliance, and the Sturgeon Bay Rotary scholarship committee.

As an actor, he has won awards on the stage, in film, and on television. He was named Educator of the Year by First Stage in 2005. He launched the Cultural Alliance of Milwaukee, The Big Read Door County, and Peninsula Players‘ The Play’s the Thing staged reading program. In addition, he produced a play reading series for the American Conservatory Theater and is the founding producer of the Door Kinetic Arts Festival.

Fundraising is a particular expertise for Kopischke, who has raised millions of dollars for nonprofit arts organizations and has served on grant review panels for the Wisconsin Arts Board, the Milwaukee Arts Board and the Wisconsin Department of Tourism’s JEM grants.

Alan earned an MFA in Acting from the American Conservatory Theater and a BS in Math from the University of Miami, and completed the Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management program at Harvard Business School.
